Chocolate Covered Bananas

I think by now you have come to realize that I really just love anything that is covered in chocolate. Chocolate -covered bananas are a great treat to keep in your freezer (if you don’t eat them as you make them that is).  I like them in little slices instead of the more traditional way which is a whole banana dipped in chocolate. With smaller slices I can at least pretend that they will last longer!



8 oz semi sweet bakers chocolate or chocolate chips

1 tbsp canola oil

Toppings to dip them in. My absolute favourite is Skor Bits! Toasted coconut and crushed nuts come in as close seconds.


Place all of your toppings in separate bowls (the wider and flatter the bowl the better).

Slice your bananas into half inch slices.

Melt the chocolate in a double boiler with the oil. (The oils helps to thin out the chocolate a bit).

Using a fork or two tooth picks, dip the banana slices into the chocolate one at a time and immediately transfer them into the bowl with the topping.

Cover completely with your topping. Press in to make the topping stick.

Lay on wax paper covered tray and throw those babies in the freezer!

Wait til chocolate is hardened and eat eat eat!
